Enter Nix
EventNix is described by Amazon itself as the biggest region ever added to Throne and Liberty. Far beyond the known lands of Solisium, all communication with the tundra has gone silent — and the Red Mist has begun to spread across the ice.
The expansion's Adventure Codex guides players into the plans of the Syaveana Order and the Arkeum Legion. The Resistance calls adventurers to confront the hidden forces, crossing settlements, frozen ruins and spaces torn open by unstable space-time rifts.

Narrative conflict
The lands of Nix
PvENix is not a single biome. The tundra splits into seven lands with distinct narrative and mechanical purposes — each with its own atmosphere, enemies and activities. This is the mental map worth bringing to day 1.

How to read the map of the 7 lands
⟡ Tactical readBordeland is the heart of open PvP. Scars of Sacrifice anchors the narrative of the Resistance and the mourning over the silence of Nix. Land of Snow is the door to the Marak — expect heavy encounters there. Aeterion connects the expansion to vertical traversal via the Sky Wedge. Snowfield of Chaos is the most likely stage for July's Arch Bosses. Tunggir Ruins holds ancient relics and the first traces of the Marak. Frozen Land of Silence is the epicenter of the collapse — where all communication with Nix went silent.
Cross the Divide
SystemWalking on foot can't handle Nix. The expansion introduces two traversal mechanics that transform how you cross the map — for the first time T&L embraces real vertical traversal.

⟡ Sky Wedge
⟡ Auroral Way
Why this is bigger than it looks
⟡ Tactical readVertical traversal changes how guilds position themselves. The Sky Wedge lets you engage PvP from above — the aerial flank became a tool. The Auroral Way, if shared with PvP, will redefine response time in competitive events. It's not just QoL, it's tactics.
Master the Gauntlets
BuildThe expansion's signature weapon is the Gauntlets. Close, aggressive combat, with two stances that switch in real time. The studio classifies it as a Tank/DPS hybrid — something the current weapon wheel doesn't cover well.

Dungeons, Level 60 and gear
DungeonTwo brand-new co-op dungeons arrive at launch, both inside Nix. The level cap rises to 60 and the item system gets a "major evolution" — with more player control over upgrade paths and build customization.

⟡ Progression to 60
- New level cap: 60
- Stronger gear to support the next era
- High-level rewards "even more meaningful"
- Difficult content scaled for the new cap
⟡ Evolved item system
- More control over gear progression paths
- Expanded build customization
- Path of Ascension also gets improvements
- A dense QoL package across the progression systems

More reasons to stay in the world
PvENix was built to encourage players to spend more time in the world itself. The region spreads dynamic events, powerful enemies, competitive conflicts and high-reward opportunities across the open territory — favoring spontaneous encounters.
The housing and lifestyle content also gets improvements, along with QoL to make this layer of the game smoother.

A clear signal for BR guilds
⟡ BR readAmazon repeats the phrase "spontaneous encounters" twice in the announcement. That's intentional design: less queue, more map. Whoever masters the Nix rotation will become a farming reference in the very first weeks.
Post-launch roadmap
EventThe June 25 launch is just the door. Amazon confirmed a heavy content schedule over the following weeks — Arch Boss, Colossus, a new Battlefield and Castle Siege improvements.
July · Arch Boss
July · Dimensional Trials
July · War Seal (codename)
August · Colossus
August · Siege of Stoneguard
Behind the scenes · interview with the PD
SystemOn the same day as the Western announcement, NCSoft published on the Korean forum (tl.plaync.com) a behind-the-scenes interview between CM Izai and PD Park Geon-su, responsible for the production of Throne and Liberty. The conversation brings context the official announcement left out — proper names, regional dates and a layer of lore that helps you understand what's at stake.

⟡ EN translation · tl.plaync.com"On June 23, the largest-scale expansion in TL's history — The Frozen Divide: Nix — finally arrives for adventurers. With the vast new region of Nix at its center, the cruelly charismatic new Gauntlets weapon, co-op dungeons, the max-level expansion to 60 and completely renewed gear, we open an era of dangerous, impossible-to-ignore open-world exploration." — CM Izai × PD Park Geon-su, 05/20/2026, 08:00 KST. The name Dragon Knight Ramux confirms the Ramux Ascended item that appeared in last week's datamine: datamine and official roadmap are aligned.

⟡ Creator's voice“This announcement is the first big identity step T&L takes on the global line — but it came from NCSoft, not Amazon inventing Westernization. The publisher only delivers the package; the studio that designed the expansion, the name, the weapon and the roadmap is Korean. What caught my attention most wasn't Nix or the Gauntlets — it was level 60 with a "major evolution in the item systems." That's where the expansion will shine or sink. If build customization is real, we enter a new era. If it's just another trophy floor, it becomes more of the same. Gauntlets with stance switching, on paper, is the most interesting combat thing this game has tried. But it all depends on how it will coexist with Sword+Shield and Daggers in PvP. And the Sky Wedge? It could be the item that changes guild war for good.”

KR goes live on June 23, global (including BR) on June 25. Only 48 hours of gap — Korean servers will set the meta narrative, with a short window for BR to react.
