Terms of Service — Scaryel Codex Bot

1. Service description

The Bot automatically distributes public content from the creator Scaryel — new YouTube videos, Twitch live streams, and articles from the Scaryel Codex website (https://scaryel.com) — to the Discord channels configured by each server’s administrator.

The administrator chooses which alerts to receive, in which channel, and in which language (Portuguese, English, or Spanish). By adding the Bot to a server or using it (for example, via the /alerts command), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, remove the Bot from your server.

2. Eligibility

You must comply with Discord’s Terms of Service and meet the platform’s minimum age requirement in your region. Configuring the Bot (the /alerts command) requires the Manage Server permission in the relevant server.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Bot for unlawful purposes or in violation of Discord’s Terms;
• attempt to exploit, overload, reverse-engineer, interfere with, or abuse the Bot or its infrastructure;
• redistribute received content in a way that infringes third-party rights.

4. Availability and changes

The Bot is provided free of charge and "as is." We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or that any specific alert will be delivered at a given time — delivery depends on Discord, the source platforms, and the Bot’s permissions in your server.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue the Bot, in whole or in part, at any time, without notice.

5. Intellectual property

All distributed content (videos, streams, articles, trademarks, logos) belongs to Scaryel and/or their respective owners and is protected by applicable law.

These Terms grant you no rights in that content beyond receiving and displaying it in your server’s channels through the Bot.

6. Required permissions

To function, the Bot requests, at minimum, permission to View Channels and Send Messages. The Bot does not use the message-content permission to read users’ messages.

You are responsible for granting the appropriate permissions in the chosen channel; without them, alerts will not be delivered.

7. Privacy

Use of the Bot is subject to our Privacy Policy, which describes what data is processed. The Bot stores only server configuration (server identifier, chosen channels, and language); it does not collect message content or members’ personal data.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the project creator is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of or inability to use the Bot, including delivery failures, downtime, or third-party content.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Bot at any time by removing it from your server. We may remove the Bot or suspend access for any server that violates these Terms.

When the Bot is removed, that server’s configuration is deleted (see the Privacy Policy).

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always available at https://scaryel.com, with the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Bot after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil.
