How server pairing works
SystemIn Aion 2 the server is not neutral: it has a side. Each server hosts a single race, and the order in the game is always the same — first the Region, then the Race, and only then the available server within that region.
Since the two races live apart, war needs a bridge. That is pairing: each Elyos server is matched with an Asmodian server for a limited time. When you enter the Abyss or a Time-Space Rift, every enemy that shows up comes from the server paired with yours — not from a global pool.

⟡ What is only yours
- Your home server, with a single race — no enemy walking through your capital
- The economy and internal ranking, contested only among players on your side
- The region choice, made before everything else and which defines the pool of available servers
⟡ Shared ground
- The Abyss — Atreia's classic PvP battlefield
- The Time-Space Rifts, which cross the races outside the Abyss
- Any mode that crosses the racial border: there the opponent comes from the paired server
⟡ The official example
⟡ AttentionNCSoft illustrates it like this: if the Asmodian server Israphel is paired with the Elyos server Siel, every Asmodian from Israphel who enters the Abyss will find Elyos from Siel. These are the names you will learn to hate.
Europe — the largest launch grid
PvPEurope leads in volume: 9 launch pairs plus 9 early access, 18 pairs in total. It is also the only region with a launch pool entirely its own — Nania, Tahavatha, Luteros and company don't appear in any other grid.
Nania × Hadala
Tahavatha × Ludra
Luteros × Ulgorn
Phernos × Munin
Daminu × Odar
Kasaka × Zemurru
Bakarma × Kromede
Tsenka × Quai
Kochi × Baba
Siel × Israphel
Nezekan × Zikel
Vaizel × Triniel
Kaisinel × Lumiel
Yustiel × Marchutan
Ariel × Azphel
Fregion × Ereshkigal
Meslamtaeda × Beritra
Hithanya × Nemon
North America East
PvP5 launch pairs and 3 early access. The second-largest grid, and the only one outside Europe to open the pairs Fregion × Ereshkigal and Meslamtaeda × Beritra.
Kaisinel × Lumiel
Yustiel × Marchutan
Ariel × Azphel
Fregion × Ereshkigal
Meslamtaeda × Beritra
Siel × Israphel
Nezekan × Zikel
Vaizel × Triniel
North America West
PvPThe leanest grid of all: 3 launch pairs and 2 early access, 5 pairs in total. Fewer servers means a more concentrated population — and a more predictable pairing queue.
Vaizel × Triniel
Kaisinel × Lumiel
Yustiel × Marchutan
Siel × Israphel
Nezekan × Zikel
Latin America — the BR address
PvP4 launch pairs and 2 early access. This is the grid that matters to players from Brazil: six pairs, with Siel × Israphel and Nezekan × Zikel opening already in early access.
Vaizel × Triniel
Kaisinel × Lumiel
Yustiel × Marchutan
Ariel × Azphel
Siel × Israphel
Nezekan × Zikel
Asia
PvP3 launch pairs and 3 early access. It is the only region where early access ties with launch in number of pairs.
Kaisinel × Lumiel
Yustiel × Marchutan
Ariel × Azphel
Siel × Israphel
Nezekan × Zikel
Vaizel × Triniel
Today's pair is not tomorrow's pair
PvPThe question NCSoft itself anticipated in the notice: will the paired server always be the same? No. Pairings will be updated regularly to keep the races balanced — today's challenger may be replaced by another further on.
In practice this changes how it's worth playing the Abyss. Rivalry between servers exists, but it has an expiry date: the grudge you nurture in this window may have no one left to collect it from in the next.
⟡ The list will change again
⟡ AttentionThe official notice says it will be updated regularly with the latest grid. Treat this list as a snapshot of the launch, not the final configuration — both servers and pairs can come and go.

⟡ Creator's voice“There's a detail almost nobody will notice in the table: the server names are the Empyrean Lords of Atreia, and they are paired on top of the lore itself — Siel with Israphel, Nezekan with Zikel, Ariel with Azphel. Fregion and Ereshkigal, which appear only in Europe and NA East, aren't even Daevas: they are Dragon Lords. This isn't decoration. When the pairing rotates, NCSoft will have to break these lore-correct pairs, and players will feel the marriage has gone sour. My bet is that the first re-pairing is the real test of the system, not the launch.”

Latin America has 6 pairs, against 18 in Europe. A smaller grid concentrates population: expect to always see the same faces on the other side.
1-minute summary
System⟡ For those in a hurry
01:00- One race per server: Elyos and Asmodians never share the same world — the choice order is Region → Race → Server.
- Pairing: each Elyos server is matched with an Asmodian for a limited time; that is where every enemy in the Abyss and Time-Space Rifts comes from.
- 43 pairs across 5 regions: Europe 18, NA East 8, Latin America 6, Asia 6, NA West 5.
- Europe is the exception: the only region with an exclusive launch pool (Nania, Tahavatha, Luteros, Phernos, Daminu, Kasaka, Bakarma, Tsenka, Kochi) and the only one with Hithanya × Nemon.
- Siel × Israphel and Nezekan × Zikel open early access in all five regions.
- Pairs will rotate: NCSoft will redo the pairings to balance the races, and the official notice will be updated with the latest grid.
- Verdict: the launch is predictable; the first re-pairing is what will show whether the system works. Confidence 7.0.
